Art And Building Whisperer

Hello Everyone:

I'm feeling a little more positive today.  One reason for my positive mood is I sent off an application to a smaller city planning department. The city hall is a dumpy looking building so there's no temptation to spend time exploring and taking pictures. More on that in a moment. The other reason I'm in a better mood is I posted the latest Blogger Candidate Forum. That always puts me to rights. Back to the planning job. Like art, buildings make much better company than humans. No attitudes, no drama. We understand each other. The thing with L.A. City Hall is that it's such a great place that all I want is spend my time exploring it. I don't want to waste it in an office. Buildings and art I understand because they tell me everything I need to know and them some about themselves. People just babble endlessly about nothing. They just make noise. Art and architecture make noise in a different way. Their noise is a symphony of decades and centuries of life. People just chatter on about  things in their moment and expect me nod along. I usually do out of politeness but I find it so dull. The small city hall is just a box with windows. Nothing exciting to look at. Less interest in exploration. That's kind of funny for a city that values design. Anyway, I'm not holding my breathe on a positive response. We'll see what happens.
