Mama Drama
Hello Everyone:
It’s been a few days and I need to catch up on some thoughts. Tuesday and Wednesday were really good blog days. I posted a couple of good pieces on the Australian fires and gender politics. The post on the fires was really fascinating because it explored the science behind why the fires are/were so intense. Fortunately it’s raining in Australia and some of the blazes have been naturally put out. Thank you Mother Nature. Wednesday’s post took a look why it’s so hard to get someone’s head wrapped around the idea of a female president. Part of the problem is we’ve all been conditioned to associate authority figure with older, white male. The other part of the reason is this delusional idea that only “the perfect female” can be president. It’s total rubbish if you ask me. Just like there’s no “perfect male” candidate, no “perfect female” exist. People need to get over it. The rest of the week was pretty chill. I managed to get to the salon for a few minutes to myself and see the movie Judy. Mum, as usual, is the drama queen. Her latest thing is complaining she feels so unwell that she has to call the paramedics to take her the emergency department. The last time she called the paramedics, it was because her feet were ice cold. A couple (really hot) paramedics came, examined her, and decided it she didn’t need to be transported. They tucked her in bed and left. I have no idea why she feels the need to call them now. It’s just mum being the drama queen. What’s the most infuriating is that her doctors tell what she needs to do to help herself feel better but she ignores them. They prescribe her all sort of medications because they have treat her. She doesn’t want to make any effort to try to get off the pills. Instead, she just complains about how bad she feels. I just ignore her. There’s no point in reacting to her because I don’t want get sucked into the drama. I don’t know why she does this—loves the attention? I can think of better ways to get attention and making yourself feel unwell and running to the emergency department isn’t it.
