Rainy Monday Afternoon
Hello Everyone:
A very rainy Monday and I am indulging in some serious self-care, other than getting dressed to go to the grocery store, I spent the day in my pajamas. Really. I love it. I love lounging about in my pajamas, doing nearly nothing. Once in a while I have to have a day like the one I had today. I spend so much time in full "Bloom" (hair, makeup, wardrobe) that I need a break whenever I can. I don't mind getting fully dressed but I need a break every now and then. Getting dress to go to work at the department store really feels pointless because it's a job I really like. I only like it because it pays me. Speaking of work, my supervisor checked in with me last week, complimenting on a great day, adding that I didn't have to call her once. Well, yes. I don't need to call a manager for anything unless I have to. Truth is I have a lot good days, it's just she's focused on everything else. Fortunately, she's leaving soon to take another job at a branch of the department store. She can be a nice person, in a phony sort of way. I won't really miss her at all. Who knows who the next supervisor will be and what he or she will be like. As usual, I imagine she or he will either be a real hard case or really mushy. I would like the new supervisor to do away with the computer-based schedule maker, it just doesn't work at all. Instead, let each department make their own schedule, based on need. If that happens, then I can finally have some part of my weekends back. Also, I hope the new supervisor transfers this one associate from fulfillment to my department. I think the reason why this associate is assigned to fulfillment is that she has a very mannish appearence. The department store manager may have decided that it could be a problem for some of the customers and placed her there. Either that or fulfillment really needed her help. I would like to think that fulfillment needed the help because the former reason can lead to all sorts of negativity that I prefer not to engage in. Anyway, new year, new outlook on life and work.
