Face The Future

Hello Everyone: I managed to survive the holiday rush with shreds of my sanity in tact. I do not want to repeat that madness again. I'm actually surprised at how quickly it came and went. Things got very tense for a while and I definitely let my emotions get the better of me. That should not have happened because I like to think of myself as more of an adult than a child. Fortunately work has calmed down and I can totally focus on being better at my at my job. Speaking of jobs, I got an email from a recruiter last week about an office administrator position at a local non-profit that works with the formerly incarcerated. It sounded like a pretty straight forward 9-5 job. I spoke with the recruiter who forwarded my resume to the organization. The non-profit decided not to move forward with my application and it doesn't bother me because I sort of expected. Before I spoke to the recruiter, I Googled the non-profit and saw that it was run by Orthodox Jewish men. Orthodox Judaism frowns on men and women mixing together because it would be immodest and lead to problems. It sounds very antiquated and sexist but in the Me Too era, it sort of makes sense. I work with men and it doesn't bother nor am I interested in them as potential dates. I have a permenant date. Anyway, the prospect of working in all male office wasn't something I was particularly interested in. I'll just keep looking for a better job, one that doesn't leave me super exhausted 10 minutes into my shift. Meanwhile the community college enrollment process moves along. I planning to start in the spring semester and just take one, maybe two classes. I'm excited and looking forward to the challenge of it. On the Brit BF front, he is the man with the plan. With a certain amount of luck and good planning, we will be living under the same roof by this time next year. It'll be so nice to have him here for good. Before that happens, there's alot of paperwork that needs to get done. You know how it is, nothing is official until the paperwork is done.
