Back To The Grind

Hello Everyone: It has been a long time since I last checked in. Needless to say, work has kept me very busy and exhausted me to the point where I needed to take a few days off. Let's just my schedule worked out that way. I'm pretty grateful I took the time because I needed the break before the mad holiday rush that starts this Friday. I'm so not looking forward to it. Fortunately my department has enough people to handle the anticipated crowd and I have a good feeling that we'll get through it. So what did I do on my self-imposed vacation? Slept in,did some housework, cooked, got together with the family, and basically nothing at all. Other than going to the eye doctor and Sis' house, I just didn't even bother to get dressed or put on any makeup. Very nice. Some good news on the job front, I had a call today with a recruiter for a multi-national, multi-state management consulting firm for an on-call/contract field data collector. The position sounds like something I can do but the there are still some unknowns about it, like how much will I be paid and if I can work in my immediate area. I told the recruiter that I'm looking for a company to grow with. If I like working for them, I may want to stay there. Anyway, the recruiter said she (it is a she) would advance my application so I could talk to the person in charge of the project. Good news. I still plan to keep looking for permenant work. Tomorrow I go back to work and I'm kind of looking forward to it because it'll give me something to do. Also, I kind of miss my coworkers. Yes, they can be annoying but none of it is deal breaker stuff. The one group of people I don't particularly care for is management. I don't think they're always honest and I think they play office politics. Frankly I don't really need or care for any of it. Anyway, I'm ready to get back to the grind tomorrow. Hopefully the holiday rush won't be too crazy.
